Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Responder AI collects, what it does with it, and what it never does.

The short version

You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number. Your location is used to find alerts and records near you. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not build a history of where you have been.

Location

When you allow location access, Responder AI reads your device location while the app is open and sends the coordinates, together with the zone radius you picked, to our servers to look up incidents, hazard alerts and registry records in that area. We use the coordinates to answer the request. We do not link them to a person.

You can refuse location access or turn it off later in iOS Settings. The app still works on a default area, it just cannot center on you.

Notifications

If you turn on alerts, Apple gives the app a push token so we can send notifications to your device. To send an alert for your zone we keep that token together with your zone center, radius and the alert types you chose. Turn notifications off in iOS Settings and we stop sending them. Deleting the app makes the token useless.

What stays on your device

  • Your onboarding answers: alert types, age range and who you keep safe.
  • Your zone radius and settings.
  • Whether you accepted the alerts and registry notices.

Your age range and who you keep safe are used only to shape the app on your phone. They are never sent to us. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Where the information comes from

Alerts are generated automatically from public safety information, such as public dispatch activity and official weather, geological and emergency alerts. Registry records come from public state and federal sex offender registries. We are not the source of that information and we do not decide who appears in a registry. If a record is wrong, contact the agency that publishes it.

Who we share with

We do not sell your data. We share only what these services need:

  • Apple, for maps, push notifications and, if paid features are ever offered, App Store purchases.
  • Our own hosting, to answer alert and registry lookups.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order.

Purchases

Responder AI is free today. If paid features are added, payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details.

Children

Responder AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

  • Turn location or notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device.
  • Email [email protected] to ask what we hold or to request deletion.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
